Welcome on Board (de Seine)

Week 2: Gwenael P.

At a flea market, you can buy some painting signed Picasso and discover that it’s just a Piccaço. You can also buy a anonymous painting (put in a bag with a plastic cow) for 7$ and discover it’s a Renoir, valued between 75 000 and 100 000 $. The lucky owner of Bords de Seine apparently did not want to expose the painting in his bedroom. And tried to sell it few mounths ago.

The dream of the owner ended when the Baltimore Museum of Arts revealed that the painting was a piece of its collection stoll in 1957. The painting disappeared during fifty years until 2012. The Potomack Compagny, which scheduled to auction off the small pastel-coloured painting, decided to not sell the painting. FBI opened a survey to solve the mystery. Next time, be careful: this painted landscape could be a Turner or a Poussin. Or just a horrible way to draw trees and horses.
