In 1999, an important project for a permanent exposition in
a Millennium parc, in the center of Chicago, set the internationals artists
Jeff Koons and Anish Kapoor. Anish is an Indian-Born British sculptor, very
famous like Jeff Koons and the Millenium parc leaders are interested by these
two artists. Anish Kapoor was finaly
choose for create what was going to become the new symbol of the city : a
big métalic sculpure, in a shape
of bean, name’s « cloud gate ». No colors, just the métal polish as
some mercury. Now, this sculpture is an attraction for tourists and all the
tourists guides speak about it. But the people who live in Chicago are proud of
this sculpture. The cloud gate is very popular because thanks to this work the time magazine wrote that the cloud gate was one of the
ten best réalisation of the year.
