Argo or the Canadian Caper
The new, and probably the
best, movie of Ben Affleck Argo is released. More than a
traditional action movie, Argo is inspired by the real story of the
Canadian Caper.
On November 4 1979, during
the Iranian revolution, the american ambassy is invaded. 52 hostages
were kept for more than one year. But 6 of them manage to escape and
find a refuge at the Canadian ambassador's home. But the Islamist
members still want them.
To release them before they were found and killed, the CIA, especially Tony Mendez, and the Canadian government have organized an incredible mission (when we know how serious is the CIA and how dangerous a hostage taking can be) : Using the production of a science fiction movie as an excuse to go to Tehran and release the hostages.

The movie was a fake but
everything have been made to mean it was a real one with the aim of
deceive the Iranian government.
A script based on the science fiction novel Lord of Light has been writing, an office has been set up in Hollywood, even ads have been created.

Despite errors on Tony
Mendez's fake passport, the deception has worked and the 6 hostages
have been released. A couple of years after, all of the American
hostages has been released but with a more traditional way.
