« Last Bar Before the End of the World »
In Paris, near the station
« Châtelet les Halles » is a place called « Le
dernier bar avant la fin du monde ». On 3rd July
fans of science fiction, geeks, Star Wars's worshippers or just
onlookers where there for the opening of the bar which is « The
place to geek ».
First of all, there is the
setting and the atmosphere. The bar is build on three levels. Each
one has a theme : Gloomy London of 1900, blue dark and luminous
walls worthy of the decors of « Tron », medieval rooms
and so one.
There are details everywhere
and this bar must be seen like a museum. Each movements allows you to
see an other surprising thing like a real R2D2 or the famous mask of
« V for Vendetta ».
« Le
dernier bar avant la fin du monde » is not only a spot to drink
a 42
or a Poison Ivy.
It is also a place where Arthur Conan Doyle and Stephen King can be
read, comfortably sat in a leather couche. Tabletop games are also
available and games editor often come in this bar to present their
new creations.
This
bar is like a temple for the geek culture and a place where everybody
can notice that there is a part of this kind of culture inside of
each of us.
