A 'Godlike Genius' to offer us the music

After NME crowned Noel Gallagher as "Godlike Genius" in february 2012 (after U2, The Clash, The Cure etc.), the New Musical Express published a two part Ultimate Guide to the Senior Gallagher brother, retracing the Oasis years and his starting solo career.

Noel Gallagher first knew worldwide success with the Oasis band, which frontman singer was his younger brother Liam. The band used to hit the headlines for its exhilarating brit pop music but also for the endless war between the Gallagher brothers, some kind of "unique chemistry".

Eventually, the split happened on the 29th august 2009, at the Rock en Seine Festival. Noel quit the band saying that he could no longer work with his younger brother. This is how began a new solo career for the one called "The Chief" by the Oasis members.

About becoming the frontman, Noel says : "I can't dance, I got no moves, I don't do magic tricks, I look a bit grumpy […] I can only offer you the music". That must be exactly why NME consecrated him. Or perhaps it is for his rare sense of Music History. Indeed, as he recalls, "Rock n' roll will never die 'cause Neil Young said so", and the story just "needs retelling for a new generation".

Anyway, Noel Gallagher has now entered the limited group of British music Godlike Geniuses.
